The new year brings with it so much possibility. Last year was not what anyone expected and brought with it a number of challenges. As 2021 begins, it heralds a fresh start for all of us. We asked some of our team members what they’re more excited about this year.
They didn’t disappoint! Our team is an optimistic bunch and believes there are brighter days ahead for all of us. We thought it would be fun to share the responses we got when we asked, “What are you most looking forward to in 2021?”
Here are replies and our uplifting outlook for what’s ahead!
Beautiful Days and Mindfulness
Many team members shared that they began focusing on mindfulness exercises in 2020 and will continue this practice in 2021. A key benefit they’ve experienced is understanding the importance of appreciating moments in each day. Be intentional and find what makes the day beautiful. Don’t forget to take time for self-care. That lesson was shared by multiple team members. We also had a few folks mention how they’re already looking forward to the sunnier days of spring. We love this comment in particular:

Back To Normal
Not surprisingly, the single most popular response we got was the anticipation of returning to some sense of normalcy in 2021. We all are more likely to appreciate the simply joys we’ve missed out on during the past year. Many team members mentioned how much they’re looking forward to seeing more people in person and giving their friends a hug! Returning to in-person resident events was another frequent response. Our teams miss seeing residents as frequently and can’t wait to host social gatherings, when appropriate, in 2021. This response captured a common sentiment:

Bright Times Ahead
Most of our team members are optimistic about the future. They shared plans for person and professional growth. Some team members discussed continuing education goals and expanding their skill sets to better serve residents. Others shared personal ambitions for the year ahead, including fitness goals. A common theme was that many of our team members are excited to travel again. This focus on growth is perfectly captured in this reply:
