As we approach the end of the year, it’s an ideal time to reflect on 2021 and what we’ve learned. There’s no one better to talk with on this topic than LaCole Gadson, a Senior Regional Property Manager with HHHunt Apartment Living. She’s led several exciting initiatives this year and has great insights.
If you haven’t met LaCole, check out this profile from our blog last year. LaCole is a constant cheerleader for the residential property management sector and everyone who works in apartment living. She even published an op-ed earlier this year about the positive impact that apartment communities have. That column appeared in Charleston Business magazine, Greenville Business magazine, and Columbia Business Monthly.
Q: What are some of the top highlights for HHHunt Apartment Living in 2021?
A: This year has been incredibly successful for all our apartment communities, which is truly a testament to our dedicated teams. Among the highlights is that we continued to see strong interest in all our apartment communities. New residents moved in and immediately enjoyed the How You Live lifestyle. Our communities began to host in-person events again this year, which was something everyone was excited about. Our teams also continued some fun traditions that began last year, such as delivering treats to residents in their apartments. Another highlight was that our leadership team honored our employees with a virtual awards ceremony in March. Finally, we saw some great growth this year and announced four new apartment communities! After such a busy year, I’m excited to see what lies ahead in 2022.
Q: How has the HHHunt team continued to adjust and serve residents during the pandemic?
A: As I mentioned, our teams have been able to bring back some events and continue some cool initiatives that began last year. Another adjustment has been having more food trucks visit. Food trucks have become a popular alternative to larger gatherings. Our communities are located in amazing cities and it’s always fun to see the variety of incredible food trucks that visit our apartment communities. Our service teams have adjusted their processes as well. For example, we’ll reschedule service times based on our residents’ needs and preferences. We want to fit within their schedules. Utilizing the smart home technology features in all our apartments has been a game changer as well. We’re always looking for ways to be forward-thinking and to serve our residents. We want to make their lives easier and help them focus on what they love most.
Q: What are some ways that apartment communities have given back this year?
A: We believe it’s important to give back to our local communities. I’m so inspired by our residents and team members. Their generosity is truly overwhelming, and this year was no different! A few examples of how we’ve fulfilled our Brand Promise to be an engaged community partner include blood drives, food drives for local food banks, Toy for Tots collections, back-to-school supply drives, collecting pop tabs from cans for local Ronald McDonald Houses and pet supply drives for animal shelters. Q: Any personal highlights you’d like to share?
A: Thanks for asking! One of the reasons I love working at HHHunt is that the company is employee centered and invests in its team members. I’ve experienced this many times, including this year. I was fortunate enough to attend the National Apartment Association’s Apartmentalize conference and learned a great deal. I’m also pursuing a master’s degree and HHHunt has a great education reimbursement program. It’s really a wonderful place to work!
