This past year has been especially difficult. Despite the challenges of the pandemic, our apartment communities continue to give back to those most in need. Team members, residents, and business partners have all come together to support amazing organizations and causes in their local communities. At HHHunt, we have a long-standing commitment to serve as an engaged community partner. It’s one of our company’s brand promises and part of who we are.
As an Engaged Community Partner, we believe it’s crucial to be active and visible in our communities, and we’re always impressed by the immense support and generosity. We want to highlight a few recent examples that fulfill our promise to be an engaged community partner.
Many of our apartment homes have partnered with The Blood Connection, local hospital systems, and other blood donation nonprofits to host blood drives. These blood drives are an easy and impactful way to help others. The Red Cross reports that one donation can save up to three lives. That’s incredible! And the need for donated blood exists across the country. Every two seconds, someone in the U.S. needs blood or platelets. Recent blood drives have occurred at Abberly Grove in Raleigh, NC, Abberly Avera in Manassas, VA, and Abberly Chase in Ridgeland, SC. Abberly Village in Columbia, SC is currently organizing a blood drive for July, and additional blood drives are planned in other communities this year.
Our apartment communities also support people in need in many ways. For example, Abberly CenterPointe in Midlothian, VA collected valentines for residents at a nearby assisted living facility. Team members and residents created thoughtful cards and messages for those who felt especially lonely on Valentine’s Day during the pandemic. These kind acts lifted the spirits and warmed the hearts of everyone. Abberly at Southpoint in Fredericksburg, VA heard about an increased need for supplies at their local Boys and Girls Club. The community jumped into action and collected a wide variety of supplies, including chalk, paper, masks, gloves, and disinfecting wipes and sprays.
We are proud to help people around us, but we never forget about local fur babies. All our communities are pet-friendly, and this love for pets extends to helping animals in need. Abberly Market Point in Greenville, SC offers a great example. Team members and residents from the community donated pet supplies for the Greenville Humane Society, one of the largest no-kill animal shelters in the country. The pet supply drive collected over 95 items, including toys, blankets, food, and cleaning supplies. Abberly Twin Hickory in Glen Allen, VA also just wrapped up a drive for the Richmond SPCA.
Our teams and communities do so much good for those in need, and these are just a few examples. It’s truly inspiring to see the incredible support our team members and residents offer to their local communities. When there’s a need, they step up.
Thank you to all our team members and residents for your generosity and care!
