Fall Festival Guide

We’re all about having fun and enjoying festivals this fall! This is the season that combines great weather with a variety of events. The best part? Our apartment communities are located near all the entertainment.

At HHHunt, we believe it’s how you live that matters. That’s why we plan all our apartment home communities in areas near job centers, schools, dining, entertainment, shopping and more. If you’re searching for an apartment for rent with easy access to everything you need, we’ve got you covered!

With so many fall festivals this year, we thought it would be helpful to share some of our favorites that are close to our luxury apartments.

Metro DC Region (Maryland and Northern Virginia)

Northern Virginia Fine Arts Festival (September 10 – 12): Hosted by the Tephra Institute of Contemporary Art and taking place in Reston, this festival brings together incredible artwork. Browse a wide array of art and meet with artists. You may even find something to bring home.

National Harbor Wine and Food Festival (September 25): This annual event returns this year with a huge selection of world-renowned chefs, artisans, and culinary pioneers. Indulge in delicious food while listening to live music. Plus, you can sample over 100 different drinks all while strolling along the waterfront.

Mount Vernon’s Fall Harvest Festival (October 23 – 24): Enjoy festive activities, amazing views, and lots of history at Mount Vernon. This weekend-long festival will transport you back to the 18th-century and offers fun for everyone.

Virginia

State Fair of Virginia (September 24 – October 3): It’s back! The State Fair returns and brings with it everything that makes the festival so special. Enjoy rides, performances, and quintessential fair food. Plus, you can explore Virginia’s agricultural history and see what farmers are producing today. Located near Kings Dominion in Doswell, the fair is easy to reach from most parts of the state.

Blues, Brews & BBQ (October 2): It’s tough to think of a better combination than great music, incredible food, and local brews. This one-day festival is in-person this year in downtown Blacksburg. In addition to the BBQ and brews, there will be lots of live music, craft vendors, and more. The best part is that the festival benefits the Blacksburg Museum and Cultural Foundation.

Richmond Folk Festival (October 8 – 10): One of the largest outdoor festivals in Virginia, the Richmond Folk Festival is a three-day event that brings together performing groups from around the world representing a diverse array of cultural traditions on seven stages. Taking place in downtown Richmond, you can enjoy truly unique musical performances and stroll along the James River.

North Carolina

Festival in the Park (September 24 – 26): Taking place at Charlotte’s Freedom Park, this festival returns for its 57th year. Experience an incredible selection of artwork from local artists and others from across the country. Entertainment will be provided on several stages throughout the weekend. Combining great art and a festive atmosphere is always a winning combination!

Triangle Oktoberfest (October 1 – 2): Nothing says fall quite like an Oktoberfest celebration! This annual tradition returns to Cary. It’s the largest Oktoberfest in central North Carolina and features traditional food, crafts, and lots of authentic German beers. A festival that is perfect for the entire family, there’s also a wide variety of live entertainment.

North Carolina State Fair (October 14 – 24): The State Fair returns to the fairgrounds in Raleigh and there’s a lot of excitement. Experience all the food, rides, and performances that make the State Fair so special. This annual festival and agricultural exposition is more than a week long and has something for everyone.

South Carolina

Charleston Water Week (September 4 – 12): Water has been at the center of Charleston’s economic and recreational success since the city was founded. Enjoy dozens of activities throughout the week to engage with and better understand the region’s many tidal rivers, creeks, harbor, and other waterways.

Fall for Greenville (October 8 – 10): The premier festival in downtown Greenville, this weekend event brings together dozens of tastes, tunes, and taps. Recognized as one of the best food festivals and among the top fall festivals in the country, this is something you don’t want to miss!

South Carolina State Fair (October 13 – 24): The State Fair returns to Columbia and will be bigger and better than ever. With plenty of entertainment, attractions, and competitions, there is so much to experience at the State Fair.

We hope you can check out some of the events that are close to you. All these fall festivals are outdoors, but it’s still important to check online or with the organizers for details on any COVID-19 protocols that will be in place.
