Engaged Community Partner: Giving Back to Our Communities

Engaged Community Partner: Giving Back to Our Communities

This year has been challenging for many, but we continue to be amazed at the generosity of our residents and team members. Time and time again, they continue to support those in need. At HHHunt, we have a long-standing commitment to serve as an engaged community partner. It’s one of our company’s brand promises.

To us, being an engaged community partner means that we’ll be active and visible in our communities; share our time, talent, and resources; and encourage, support, and recognize volunteerism.

We believe it’s important to celebrate those who give back! There are so many examples of our communities doing great work and we’re going to highlight three recent projects in this blog post.

School Supply Drive (Manassas, VA)

The beginning of this school year is unlike any other that we’ve experienced. Even though many students won’t return to their classrooms this fall, the need for school supplies remains. Kids in need who learn remotely still require basic supplies to thrive and learn. That’s why Abberly Avera hosted a School Supply Drive in August. The community’s team and residents donated school supplies to support Prince William County Schools. Supplies collected included backpacks, pencils, pens, notebooks, glue, rules, folders, and more. This effort was a hug success and will help ensure more kids have the resources they need to excel at school this year.

Maintaining a clean and vibrant environment is a top priority for many of our communities. Earlier this year, three of our Apartment Living teams joined forces to spread mulch at Anderson Point Park in Raleigh, North Carolina. Volunteers included team members from Abberly Grove, Abberly Place, and Abberly Solaire who all worked hard, but also enjoyed a great day helping in their community park. This volunteer effort will help keep the park thriving so we all can enjoy its beauty.

Food Drive (Ridgeland, SC)

There have been news reports from around the country about the increased demand on food banks and other organizations that support those in need. Recognizing that need locally, Abberly Chase is hosting a food drive to collect non-perishable items. The drive runs from August 24th – September 30th. To make donations as easy as possible, the team set up drop off bins at each mail kiosk in the community and at the leasing office. All items will be donated to Bluffton Self Help, which supports those in need of food, clothing, and other assistance.

These three projects are just a few examples of how all our teams serve as an engaged community partner locally. We invite you to learn about other examples of how we give back.

A huge THANK YOU to our residents and team members who are so generous and supportive. We believe it’s how you live that matters and giving back to our communities is an important part of leading a fulfilling life.

Here’s to continued community support and service in 2020!
